First Annual Baby Reesa Charity Event is a Success!

On February 1st, my husband Drew Parkin and I held the first annual Baby Reesa Foundation Charity Pro-am Event. The event was a huge success raising $20,217 with over 100 participants signing up for the tournament and several others attending the bowling ball demo and silent auction. We couldn't be happier raising this amount of money for such a great cause!

The event started with a bowling ball demo in the morning, where participants could try out the latest and greatest Columbia 300, Ebonite, Hammer and Track bowling balls.

Then the real fun began with a 3-game 9-pin no-tap Pro-am tournament, with several of the top PBA professionals bowling with the participants. Also on hand was special guest MLB star Skip Schumaker.

During the entire event, we conducted a huge silent auction to raise additional funds for the Baby Reesa Foundation. Autographed jerseys,  bowling balls, a baseball bat, baseballs and additional items such as a bowling blanket, round of golf, a luxurious watch and other items were auctioned off.

The Baby Reesa Foundation is a cause that is near and dear to our hearts. Our good friends Sean and Jamie Stutzman have a baby girl Reesa that was born with an extremely rare degenerate disease called Krabbe Leukodystrophy. Krabbe disease is a genetic disorder that is generally fatal before two years old. Sean and Jamie created the Baby Reesa Foundation to help other families that have children with Krabbe disease to be able to pay for the costly medical expenses that come along with this disease.

All in all the event couldn't have been possible without the enormous effort put forth by my husband Drew in organizing the event. Special thanks to Columbia 300 brand manager Bugsy Kelly and all of the professional bowlers that came out to support our event! BIG thank you to our lane sponsors, people that donated to the cause, everyone that attended and volunteered to help during the event. We can't wait to make next year even bigger and better!
