Brunswick 5 - Paris, France

This weekend, I bowled in the Brunswick 5 tournament in Paris, France. The tournament was a 5-person team tournament with a baker-style finals.

The team - Roll Play- consisted of Paul Moor, Andy Giles, myself, Zara Glover and Matt Giles (pictured above from left to right).

After qualifying we were leading at +545 and ahead of 2nd by 300 pins!

With the baker-style finals format, we didn't fair too well, finishing the tournament in 9th place.

Above are more photos of the team, along with our team cheerleader Sarah Patton, while we hung out in Paris!

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter!!!

Brunswick Euro Challenge Final Results!

Hello!

Today was the finals of the Brunswick Euro Challenge. The pictures above show the women's prizes based off of qualifying. I finished in 1st place, 2nd was Jemma Smith from England and 3rd was Britt Broendsted from Denmark.
In the overall tournament, the second section of the finals featured a best 2 of 3 game matchplay finals for the top 32 bowlers.
In the round of 32, I bowled Olivier Leroy from Belgium and beat him 2-0, shooting 233 to his 209 and then shooting 209 to his 199.

My next match, in the round of 16, I bowled Adam Scott from England. I lost the first game 191 to 237, won the second game 228 to 204, but then lost in the final game.

Overall, I finished 10th out of some 400 bowlers that competed in the event, with 38 different countries represented.

Check out the championship match 10th frame finals video of Peter Ljung from Sweden defeating Michael Fagan for the title.

Brunswick Euro Challenge Update!

Today is the finals for the Brunswick Euro Challenge.

I managed to stay in the top 16 and finished 7th after qualifying. So I get a bye into the finals and go straight into best 2 out of 3 match play.

I also was the high lady for quliafying which gets me the first place women's prize money.

Bonjour de Paris!

Yesterday I went into Paris for the frst time, and it was amazing! I went inside Notre Dame cathedral, with its beautiful stained glass windows! Then it was off to a 1 hour boat ride on the Seine River, seeing the major historical sights of Paris. I also walked along the Champs Élysées, went up 284 stairs to the top of the Arc de Triomphe and of course saw the Eiffel Tower (during the day and at night).

Enjoy the photos and video!

Brunswick Euro Challenge - Paris, France

Hello!!!

I'm currently in Paris, France competing in the Brunswick Euro Challenge, one of the European Bowling Tour's biggest events.

Today I bowled very well! The lanes are pretty tough and the scores are low! I shot 197, 237, 256, 194, 224 and 192 for 1300. In European Bowling Tour events, females automatically get 8 pins of handicap a game and compete head on against the men. So with my girlie pins I shot +148. I'm currently in 4th place overall and in 1st for the ladies side prizes.

England National Championships

I am currently in Europe competing in tournaments for the next 3 weeks! After a long 10 hour flight, and one day of rest, it was off to bowl my first tournament!

This past weekend I competed in the England National Championships. This tournament is just like the USBC Open Championships, where bowlers bowl 3 games of team event, 3 games of doubles and 3 games of singles.

In team event we competed on a pretty tough sport shot. My team included (in the picture from left to right): Dan French, myself, Nikki Ainge, Matt Giles and Zara Glover. We are currently in 2nd place in the scratch team event!

In doubles, my partner Zara Glover (pictured above) held me up, shooting 690, while I posted a 629 for a 1319 doubles score. Zara and I are currently in 2nd place for scratch doubles.

Then in the singles portion of the tournament I shot games of 258, 215, 216 for a 689 series and am currently in first place for scratch singles!

And last but not least, I am in 2nd place overall for all-events with a total of 1942 for the 9 game set.

The tournament runs for a period of three weeks and will end next weekend (March 16th).
Stay tuned for more on Missy's European travels and bowling!

Missy Goes to Europe! Stay Tuned...

Hello Everyone!

Sorry it has been WAY TOO LONG since my last blog! However, from now on I promise to write at least once a week from here on out. I also plan on having not only photos in my up-and-coming blogs, but also video blogs.

My first set of blogs will be about my European bowling trip. I leave on Thursday, March 6th for London and will compete in the England Nationals. From there I will be travelling just outside of Paris, France to compete in the Brunswick Euro Challenge, one of the biggest European Bowling Tour events of the season and then off to compete in the Brunswick 5 Team tournament also in Paris. So I will be pretty busy over the next few weeks.

So stay tuned for some fun, picture and video-filled blogs...
